This is a painting on a wood panel and I was inspired to work on a circular shape for a change.
Normally I prime the canvas but because the wood had all kinds of natural shapes and lines of the wood grain, I decided to paint in transparent washes of oil paint and allow the wood patterns to emerge and combine with the paint and image.
