Snowy Owl in Flight among the Snowflakes

Additional Information

"The owls are another group of irruptive birds that should also be mentioned, but are much trickier to find than the often-flying winter finches. Georgian Bay has great habitat for them. With the combination of conifer stands and adjoining open woodlands, a good winter could
potentially see five or more species in Georgian Bay. Possible species are Barred, Northern Saw-whet, Eastern Screech, Great Horned and the magnificent Snowy. " Quote from Aaron Rusak who resides in Go Home Bay and is not only a dedicated cottager but also a skilled birder. Serving as the Muskoka Regional Coordinator for the latest Ontario Breeding Bird Atlas, Aaron demonstrates a profound commitment to avian conservation and research.
