Another in my informal series of Georgian Bay paintings inspired by my visits to the famed 'Knothole'. Situated just beyond Kilbear Provincial Park, this old time cottage was for many years the summer residence of the late renowned Canadian landscape painter, Doris McCarthy. Many of Doris' pieces were also inspired by this wondrous place and I feel very fortunate to have been able to carry on this tradition.
This new work is a smaller piece and highlights the late day effect on the location. It is finished off nicely with custom frame made by myself using vintage wood sourced from my home region of southern Georgian Bay.
Next Knothole painting is currently underway,
Stay tuned!
