Oil painting on exposed birch panel
I left a lot of the woodgrain showing, as I often do. It adds another element to the painting and is naturally beautiful.
This is one of the most photographed trees in Ontario. It is located in Killbear Provincial Park, and is simply identified on their park map as “The Tree”, and everyone instinctively knows that is the tree! Unfortunately it is barely surviving. This painting is how the tree looked in 2021. A metal crutch now holds this tree up in an effort to keep it alive as long as possible. Let’s enjoy it now!
My commercial gallery is located on the Main Street of Midland, where you can view my artwork 5 days a week. Open 11:00-4:00 Tuesday-Saturday. Would love for you to visit. Most likely you will catch me painting!
