I am a fibre artist. I strive to find the beauty and power in everyday detritus, yarn, recycled clothing, natural and found objects and explore its relationship to the landscape. Much of my work is deeply rooted in memory. My happiest childhood memories are those of sailing from one island to the next in Georgian Bay. My father, a forester, a teacher, a sailor...taught me about this extraordinary landscape where we adventured on a voyage of discovery every summer. It is my happy place still and will forever provide endless inspiration for my work. Further, as an artist, I have become increasingly grateful for this land and have invested in my own personal exploration as a colonial settler in Canada.
